Our Communication on Progress Report for the UN Global Compact
In April 2021, Powercode submitted an annual report on our continued support for the UN Global Compact 10 principles in the Human Rights, Labour, Environment, and Anti-Corruption areas. As a company that collaborates with governmental institutions like Diia and is the UN official partner, we strive to provide the most comfortable conditions for our clients, partners, and employees. Here’s what we managed to achieve from April 2020 till today.
Human Rights

At Powercode, we believe that every person must be treated with respect and be provided with the most comfortable work conditions.
Every team member can work remotely from any country they desire. At the same time, the company ensures that they have everything required for efficient work – hardware and technical equipment, inventory, and access to necessary databases. For those employees who prefer working from the office, we ensure full compliance with the sanitary standards.
To ensure that each employee is comfortable working at Powercode, we regularly ask for their feedback, opinions, and suggestions on work conditions. Every feedback is taken into account to keep the company among the best workplaces.

IT is no longer a men’s territory. At the moment, about 30% of the company’s employees are women, who hold various positions, including C-level executives.
Not that it is worth mentioning because it is a must for every company, but we protect all our employees from all kinds and forms of harassment in the workplace.
Labour
We believe that labor conditions should be equally comfortable for everyone, regardless of the position, experience, age, gender, and others. That is why all Powercode team members have the extended social package that includes:
– specialized conferences and similar events attendance;
– advanced training;
– free foreign language courses;
– sports sections memberships;
– various corporate events, etc.
Our employee adaptation program helps all new specialists to eliminate stressful situations during the first months of work. The HR team ensures that the new employees receive all the professional, psychological, and financial support they need during the adaptation.
As we have said above, our employees can work remotely from anywhere in the world, so when a specialist wants to relocate to another city or country we have offices in, we provide assistance with paperwork and financial support.
For years, everyone who works at our team enjoys flexible working hours. Flexibility makes everything better, especially work. The same can be said about freedom. Powercode has never been involved in any form of bonded or forced labor.
Environment

We care about the quality of the environment, and we want to leave the planet to future generations in a better condition.
Our traditional contribution to improving the environment includes:
– minimizing the usage of chemical substances;
– using environmentally-friendly tableware in the offices;
– providing regular checks of our environmental protection system and working equipment condition.
As for our non-traditional environment-friendly activity, we can name the development of the online store Foodex24 that delivers goods in eco-friendly packaging.
Anti-Corruption
At Powercode, we have a strict anti-corruption policy and do not tolerate corruption in any form. Since the day the company was founded, we ensure:
– compliance with the law;
– compliance with our own corporate mission that includes the company’s anti-corruption rules;
– incorporation of ethical conduct and anti-corruption rules in our contracts with business partners.
More Facts and Numbers
Our employees are not the only ones we care about, and during this year, we’ve managed to:
– provide a grant that made it possible to build a free Covid-19 Information Portal for the Ministry of Health of Ukraine;
– deliver about 10 000 food products from an online supermarket Foodex24 (created by Powercode) in eco-friendly packaging;
– create about 50 new jobs;
– raise over 1 mln. hryvnias for children struggling with cancer by participating in the Dobrorun charity run;
– invest $50 000 in a Ukrainian startup engaged in the sports sector, etc.
Plans for the Future
What we’ve achieved in the human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption areas is only a small part of what we plan to achieve in the nearest future. Our goals include but are not limited to:
– increasing the percentage of female employees in our company;
– opening more job positions;
– providing more education opportunities for our existing and future team members;
– contributing to environment-friendly activity;
– participating in charity events;
– creating software that improves health, social, and environmental conditions, etc.
