Our volunteer work to support Ukraine

The lives of Ukrainians have changed drastically since the russian full-scale military invasion on February 24, 2022. No one was ready for it like no person in the world could believe in such cruel and inhuman actions happening in the XXI century.
The first reaction of the Ukrainian business, economy, and community was shock. However, it was just a temporary response. Then, Ukrainians pulled themselves together and demonstrated what they were worth to the aggressor and the global community.
Powercode is a Ukrainian software development company that takes care of every member of its team and does everything possible to help Ukraine in its sacred struggle for freedom, independence, democracy, and free future.
Our company has started its volunteer actions since the first days of the so-called “russian special operation.” It happened naturally without any requests or pushing. It was an inner urge and deep internal need of a friendly Powercode family.
The considerable variety of volunteer work of the company allows to divide it into several important blocks.
Veronika, our office manager, who decided not to leave the battled Kyiv, has become an active Powercode volunteer representative. Since February 26, she and her friend have been actively helping our country. Having access to drugstores and medical warehouses, girls started helping purely with medicine for the Territory Defense Forces, police, hospitals, and hotspots. However, as requests grew, the field of activity and the scale of aid also increased.

Last week our brave team managed to buy and deliver such a necessary and expensive rugged laptop for the guys in the Intelligence. Veronika’s current focuses are purchasing thermal imagers and night vision binoculars for defenders in the trenches on the border with Belarus and buying medicine to assemble tactical first-aid kits for women defenders in the Kyiv region.
The second step that Powercode took was to define the most vulnerable and affected objects. They include:
One of our FrontEnd developers, Sergey, and his friends organized a volunteer mini headquarters. Every day they analyze the demands of volunteers and defenders and do their best to satisfy them on the same or the next day. Their tasks range is various, from food and things for internal migrants to some complex tasks for our soldiers. Special attention is paid to organizing logistics and delivering packages with medicine and food to temporarily occupied territories. For example, they have recently organized and delivered humanitarian aid to children living in Dniprorudny. All staff is taking an active part in these actions and raising money in the shortest possible time.
A month later, we can say that volunteering processes are so well-established that we can react quickly and close tasks as soon as possible. Powercode is proud of our unbreakable and close-knit team, who are against all odds doing everything possible to enhance victory. At the same time, they do not stop performing their primary job duties and support those who defend the country with weapons in their hands, including those recruited to the Armed Forces from the Powercode staff.
We urge all our counteragents, current and future international partners to support our initiative. Our cooperation and mutual efforts bring us closer to victory and economic recovery. - balaclavas;
- military radio;
- the armored plates for bullet-proof vests;
- helmets;
- thermal imagers, and others.

Company’s volunteer work initiated by the founder and company management
In addition to Veronika’s volunteer work, the company decided to find additional ways to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine, The National Guard of Ukraine, The Territorial Defense Forces, and civil infrastructures. The first step was to accede to the employees’ request to give all available company’s power banks purchased for birthdays and other holidays to the National Guard of Ukraine.
The second step that Powercode took was to define the most vulnerable and affected objects. They include:
- maternity centers. Pregnant women and those who have just given birth need special care and attention. It is difficult for them because they are responsible for the lives of innocent babies waiting to see and explore the world. Thus, it is urgent to keep their psychological and physical states. Powercode is donating in purchasing particular medicine and essential goods for expectant mothers, diapers and hygiene products for newborn babies. We are doing it through maternity centers, for example, Zaporizhzhia Perinatal Center.
- pet centers and zoos. The war has a double effect on animals and pets. On the one hand, people who have to abandon their native cities, towns, and villages often do not have opportunities to take their pets and leave them, either in the street or in special centers. On the other hand, many zoos and nurseries for animals have been caught in the line of fire, especially in Kyiv, Mykolaiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions. So, Powercode allocated a separate part of the budget for supporting pets and animals in danger, particularly The Mykolaiv Zoo and Home Zoo in Vasylivka, the Zaporizhzhia region.
- The Territorial Defense Forces. Although hostilities have significantly complicated the financial and economic activities of most Ukrainian enterprises, Powercode has never doubted for a moment the need to financially help the Armed Forces of Ukraine and its separate units. We closely monitor the situation, keep abreast of urgent demands and must-haves of the Territorial Defense Forces and donate to them.
Individual Participation of Powercode members
Our team represents people from different regions of Ukraine. Apart from helping as a company, all our employees demonstrate a willingness to become a part of the global volunteer movement in one way or another. From the first days of the war, they have started donating blood, helping to find and buy necessary things for our defenders and people affected by hostilities, including those in the occupied territories. Powercode employees provide active financial support to all social, humanitarian, and defense initiatives of Ukrainian society in the war with Russia.
