Public Initiatives of the Powercode Founder
Ukraine and Ukrainian businesses are going through a rough time now. Hostilities, Russian aggression, and its attempts to invade Ukraine lead to professional and personal values changes. It makes us reconsider the conventional operational process, change priorities and find new ways of development. The current situation has become a good indicator of how Ukrainian business people are ready to work under force majeure and what bases their business has.
A founder and owner of Powercode, Vladyslav Savchenko, is an outstanding representative of proactive members of the Ukrainian IT community. His professional achievements include:
The following step was to make the most of his product, online supermarket Foodex24, awarded “Goods delivery – 2020” by Ukrainian People Award. He understood that a warehouse with foodstuffs and other goods could be essential for people and various organizations helping Ukraine in such challenging times. In Ukraine, he temporarily closed the service and distributed the food, equipment, and other materials for free. Kindergartens, schools, orphanages, volunteer cafés, checkpoints, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine received cereals, meat, canned goods, oil, sugar, and other vital goods totaling 400,00 UAH.
A part of equipment like fridges and freezers was given to nursing homes to allow people to keep groceries fresh longer. A considerable workload of cooking and delivering meals to the Ukrainian defenders led to a certain packaging and disposable tableware deficit. Vladyslav donated all his available packaging materials, disposable tableware, bags, and thermos boxes to those who cook food for the country.
Vladyslav also supports people who produce protective equipment like body armor and purchase and deliver walkie-talkies, clothing, cars, and equipment to Ukrainian soldiers and defenders.
How to be emotionally stable and continue to work was one of the first topics because Vladyslav and his colleagues cared about the mental state of IT specialists. The psychologist and coach shared techniques and practices to cope with emotional swings and tension. Other smart lectures were dedicated to issues of finance, marketing, and legal aspects of business operation during the war. All comers could find answers to the most urgent questions. How to allocate money during the war and explain it to the team? How to stimulate incoming money flow? What is crisis financial management and planning? What alternative markets exist? How to operate legally abroad? These are just a small part of them.
Supporting current and potential members of the Association and the entire Ukrainian IT community is the primary task. To reach this goal, Vladyslav and his team developed a platform Ease Work aimed at helping Ukrainian IT companies and individuals. It provides a wide range of best IT professionals’ CVs, simplifying the search process for a business. The platform’s slogan is “Don’t give us donations, give us work!”
Satellite communication is crucial for the proper and smooth operation of the IT industry during wartime. The president of the EASE took an active part in obtaining Starlink for EASE residents. Tangible benefits for the EASE members are what Vladyslav and his colleagues are trying to give.
He took part in a meeting with the Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, and the Deputy Minister for IT Development, Oleksandr Bornyakov, where they discussed the conscription of IT specialists, communication challenges and ways to meet them, the search for safe locations and the promotion of IT in the global arena.
He also arranged a phone call with Olexii Arestovych, Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President. The purpose of the communication was to get up-to-date information about the course of hostilities and the situation at the front. During the conversation, participants touched upon the issues of international cooperation, positions of international partners, and voiced possible scenarios for the development of the events.
Vladyslav shares all the information received with partners, colleagues, and interested parties to look for solutions together and feel more confident in the market.
Vladyslav and Powercode Academy could not stand aside and focused their efforts on developing measures to support Ukrainians who decided to acquire new skills. As a result, they opened free online access to modules on front-end development (Front-end Base and Front-end Advanced) and QA (QA Manual and QA Automation). All materials are designed for individual learning, gaining basic knowledge, and mastering necessary IT tools. A person doesn’t need any previous IT experience.
For those interested in web design, in the Telegram channel, the team has prepared a careful selection to boost skills and bring the quality of work to a new level. Also, Academy’s YouTube Channel offers recordings of workshops on Python, Front-end, Web Design, and Project Management. Everyone can get insights, analytical data, and practical recommendations to cope with the situation.
Vladyslav is not going to stop there. Every day he monitors the situation, looks for new ways to help the country and the IT community, explores new directions for development, and shares information with others. He and his team are always open to cooperation and active actions.

Business
As an entrepreneur and the owner of a successful innovative web and mobile app development company, Vladyslav decided to allocate his money flows to meet the current demands of the company, its employees, and support his country, disadvantaged groups, and people in need. The total amount of the donation equals 3 mln. UAH. Having analyzed the situation, he divided it into three groups: – funds; – individuals; – foodstuffs and necessities. To help low-income people, the elderly left alone, and persons with disabilities, his team made lists, and he with volunteers delivered packages with all necessary items to their places. Almost 300,000 UAH were spent for this purpose.
