Staff Augmentation in Eastern Europe: Buyer Comparison
Compare staff augmentation companies in Eastern Europe by the responsibility you need them to take. nCube, N-iX and Innowise publish staff-augmentation offers; Powercode Group offers engineering staffing and software delivery. Alcor belongs in a separate comparison: recruitment and Employer of Record services for building your own team. Start with that model choice, then check the proposed people, working overlap, contract and exit plan.
Eastern Europe is a search area, not a delivery specification. Ask where the proposed engineers work, which entity contracts with you and who directs their day. For a Poland-focused supplier list, use our software development companies in Poland comparison. For role selection and operating ownership, see the dedicated-developer hiring guide.

Five providers and the model to compare
This selection uses the providers’ linked primary pages to distinguish their offers. It does not score their engineering quality or confirm current capacity. Powercode Group publishes this guide and is included for its relevant services. Apply the same evidence checks to us.
| Provider | Published offer | Question for your brief |
|---|---|---|
| nCube | External engineers embedded in a client-managed team. | How will the proposed engineer join your reviews and release process? |
| N-iX | Staff augmentation in Eastern Europe. | Which skills, location and allocation does the proposal actually cover? |
| Innowise | IT staff augmentation services. | Who directs the work, reviews changes and handles a replacement? |
| Alcor | Recruitment and Employer of Record alternative. | Are you building your own team, and which employment responsibilities does the arrangement cover? |
| Powercode Group | Individual engineering capacity and dedicated teams. | Do you need an engineer under your lead or a team with agreed delivery coordination? |
Where each offer belongs on a shortlist
nCube: engineers working under your lead
nCube describes vetted external engineers joining an existing team under the client’s management, with the client retaining architecture and roadmap decisions. That makes it relevant when you already have engineering leadership and need additional capacity. Ask for evidence of the proposed person’s relevant work and agree how they will use your backlog, reviews and communication channels.
N-iX: a regional staff-augmentation option
N-iX distinguishes staff augmentation, a managed team and a custom solution on its Eastern Europe page. Ask which of those models its proposal uses. Name the missing capability and request the proposed people, locations and working arrangements. Confirm the proposed arrangement against your stack and current opening.
Innowise: an IT staff-augmentation offer
Innowise describes handling contracts, payments and administration while the client reviews CVs, selects specialists and integrates them into its workflow. That split is useful to compare with your own management capacity. Ask how technical assessment, onboarding, allocation changes and replacement would work for your engagement.
Alcor: recruitment and employment support
Alcor identifies recruitment, Employer of Record and software R&D centre services. Compare this route when you want to build your own engineering team rather than buy supplied development capacity. Ask who employs the people, what employment administration is included and what changes if you later establish your own entity. Review the proposed arrangement with appropriate local advisers.
Powercode Group: staffing or coordinated delivery
Powercode Group supports individual engineers and dedicated engineering teams. It fits this comparison when the brief identifies a capability gap or an agreed team scope. Specify which product, architecture and acceptance decisions your organisation retains. If you need the supplier to coordinate delivery, request that responsibility explicitly instead of assuming it comes with a team label.

What to put in the same request to every provider
- The work: describe the system, stack, current constraint and a representative task. State what you expect the engineer or team to own.
- Your operating owner: name who prioritises, reviews and accepts work. Include the meetings and working overlap the role needs.
- Candidate evidence: request relevant project responsibilities and a technical discussion. Check the proposed people rather than relying only on a company portfolio.
- Access and continuity: agree repository and environment access, permissions, documentation, absence cover and replacement responsibilities.
- Commercial scope: compare allocation, minimum commitments, notice, expenses and what changes require a new agreement. Check intellectual-property and data terms against the actual work.
“Start with an agreed capability brief, then compare the people and responsibilities. Powercode Group sources and vets profiles against that brief; our usual shortlist estimate is 2–7 business days, most often 3–4. Agree the engineer’s start date separately.”

Questions to resolve before choosing
Is staff augmentation the same as project outsourcing?
Staff augmentation usually means external specialists working under your team’s direction. Supplier-led delivery assigns coordination and an agreed scope to the supplier. Use our delivery-model comparison to identify the responsibilities your proposal needs.
Does a provider’s location establish where the team works?
Check the proposed team and contracting entity separately. Ask for the delivery locations, required working overlap and relevant access restrictions in the proposal. A company address or regional landing page does not answer those questions for an individual engagement.
How should you compare the final proposals?
Use one brief and one responsibility checklist. Resolve missing owners and exclusions before comparing price. If you want Powercode Group included, share the missing capability, delivery context and required allocation. We can then discuss whether staffing or a coordinated team fits the work.
