Example team budgets

Examples based on real October 2026 proposals, anonymised. These preserve their original pricing; a new quote uses the current scope and role rates.

First release of an internal web application

A phased proposal allocated 275–375 hours across business analysis/project management, backend, frontend, quality assurance and deployment. Applying its recorded role rates gives USD 10,065–13,745. Optional custom UX/UI design was priced separately.

Recurring application support

A monthly proposal priced its Care package at USD 550, including recurring production checks and 4 hours for investigation, small fixes, configuration changes and release support. Extra backend/DevOps work was USD 38/hour, mobile work USD 35/hour and project management USD 34/hour.

Extend an existing application

The next integration phase in a real proposal allocated 520–745 additional hours: 120–170 for analysis and project management, 190–270 for backend, 125–175 for frontend, 50–70 for quality assurance and 35–60 for deployment. Its original role prices produced a budget of USD 19,100–27,395. This was an additional project phase, not a monthly staff-augmentation fee.

What changes the price?

Seniority, technical stack, engagement length and team size can change the quote. Define these requirements before comparing hourly prices. We quote seniority and specialist requirements individually.

What is included, billing and contract terms

Your proposal defines the work, billing milestones and third-party services. The recurring support example above runs monthly with 30 days’ cancellation notice; those terms do not establish the terms of a separate development engagement. Minimum commitments, replacement terms and project payment dates need their own agreed wording.

How to compare market rates

Compare client-facing agency fees with agency fees. Salary and contractor surveys describe a different cost base. Regional guides also group different roles and seniority levels, so a country average cannot determine your team’s quote.

For wider context, see Qubit Labs’ regional guide and Uptech’s rate guide, checked 4 November 2026. These are market context, not the source of Powercode’s rates.

Pricing questions

What is the average hourly rate for a software developer?

Current starting rates include USD 30/hour for quality assurance, USD 32/hour for frontend engineering and USD 36/hour for backend engineering. Your quote depends on the role and work scope.

How much does it cost to hire a developer to build a website?

Multiply the agreed role rates by the estimated work. The quote should separate build work, ongoing support, hosting and third-party services.

How much does it cost to hire a developer to make an app?

The budget depends on the app scope, platforms, integrations and the mix of engineering, design and testing. The role card supports the estimate; it does not determine the number of hours.

How are the monthly figures calculated?

The monthly comparison is the displayed hourly rate multiplied by 160 hours. It is a comparison unit, not a minimum commitment or a guaranteed monthly allocation.

Are monitoring and maintenance packages the same as hourly development?

No. A support package can include recurring checks and a limit of support hours. Extra development is quoted separately. Compare the package scope as well as the price.

Can I get a rate for a specialist role?

Yes. Ask for a role-specific quote. Specify the stack and seniority you need so that we can prepare the right quote.

Send the role, required stack, approximate workload and preferred engagement model. We can then discuss a quote for that scope.
